Richard is a visionary leader with 35 years of experience in public and government relations, community relations and public education. He a past chair of the national Canadian Biosphere Reserves Association. Richard is considered one of the founders of the biosphere reserve movement in Canada and has helped to manage the Escarpment’s biosphere reserve functions since its international designation in 1990. He is a communications professional, writer and former journalist.
Mark Weseluck is the Director, Shared Services Compliance, Canada with responsibility for regulatory affairs and inquiries, registrations, securities aggregation and securities operations and financial issues at RBC Dominion Securities.
He began his career as a bank lobbyist with the Canadian Bankers Association, where he became the Vice-President, Banking Operations with responsibility for developing and advocating industry positions on financial, operational and risk issues.
Mark later set up and operated the Canadian subsidiary of a U.S. application service provider, NewRiver, that provided advisory services and online investor communication solutions. He subsequently joined the Canadian Depository for Securities Limited as the Chief Risk Officer and later became the Chief Business Development Officer.
More recently, he has provided consulting services to Scotiabank and is helping Furniture Bank to enhance its operations. Mark holds a Master of Business Administration degree from York University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.
Sam has more than 24 years of pharmaceutical and medical device industry experience in the areas of business development, sales management and marketing. He has developed and executed strategic business, marketing and sales plans and successfully developed and negotiated long-term supply and services agreements with multi-national pharmaceutical, biotechnology and clinical research companies. Sam also has a background in consumer product marketing and finance in the medical device industry.
He currently sits on the “Contract Pharma” magazine Editorial Advisory Board and is a frequent guest speaker at York University’s Strategic Account Management training programs.
Emma is an experienced environmental communicator with roots in corporate environmental compliance & sustainability, regulatory affairs as well as energy & waste management. She has worked in industry, private business, retail and the not for profit sectors over the course of her career. Emma is a certified Environmental Professional by ECO Canada, holds an MA in Environmental Education and Communication from Royal Roads University and a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph. Emma is currently responsible for overseeing corporate environmental compliance for Target Canada.
Richard is an executive leader and entrepreneur with exceptional experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, cash flow, general management, banking relationships, insurance relationships, legal relationships, and financial controls. He is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with the Raceway Dealer Group, a consortium of seven auto dealerships. Richard is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and has a Masters of Business Administration from the Richard Ivy School of Business, University of Western Ontario.
