The Niagara Escarpment has been here forever. Help keep it forever.

In 1990, UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) named the Niagara Escarpment a World Biosphere Reserve — an internationally recognized landscape. It is one of only 15 biosphere reserves in Canada, and is part of a network of over 534 worldwide.

The Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Fund was formed to ensure the continued preservation of Niagara’s diverse biosphere. The Fund is a forward-thinking non-government organization that aspires to conserve the diversity of plants, animals and micro-organisms that make up Niagara’s living biosphere. This is achieved through facilitating and sharing scientific data and analysis supported through research about conservation and preservation of genetic resources, species, ecosystems and landscapes.

Without financial support from generous donors, the future of protecting this precious reserve is uncertain.
